Join us for an afternoon of Catalan jazz in Brooklyn!

The Catalan Institute of America is proud to present Catalan Jazz NY 2026, a special concert bringing together two outstanding names from the Catalan jazz scene: the Albert Marquès Quartet and the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, directed by Joan Chamorro.

The Sant Andreu Jazz Band celebrates 20 years of music and life (2006–2026).

More than 90 musicians have been part of this young orchestra over the years, several of whom have gone on to build established careers in music.

With a discography of more than 50 albums, the band has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned musicians such as Scott Robinson, Joe Magnarelli, Joel Frahm, Jon-Erik Kellso, Paul Nedzela, Dick Oatts, and many others.

In 2025, the Sant Andreu Jazz Band took second place in the Essentially Ellington competition, organized by Jazz at Lincoln Center.

In 2026, Jazz at Lincoln Center also honored the band’s director, Joan Chamorro, with the Global Jazz Citizen Award, recognizing his contribution to jazz education, mentorship, and the development of young musicians.
